9:05 am - New Website
|
Hello All, I wanted to tell you that my new website is launched at e-lockhart.com but my blog can still be found at the usual place: theboyfriendlist.com. (This is not my real blog! This is my livejournal account that I use to read my friends list. My real blog is syndicated on LJ here.)
Also: The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks is in stores now. And How to Be Bad arrives May 6.
Happy Spring!

Something has gone off with my LJ feed again, for the typepad blog at http://www.theboyfriendlist.com/e_lockhart_blog/
I don't know why. I have no idea how to fix it, alas. If you want to read my handwriting analysis, info on the school challenge to Catherine Atkins's book, and other stuff -- please go over there!
Happy holidays!

8:39 pm - New people on the Friends List
|
Okay, the elockhar feed, which is my actual Typepad-hosted blog, is now running again, for those of you who were severely deprived of reading ridiculous memes, quizzes and musings on teen literature this past week or so.
New to my friends list:
larbalestier -- novelist Justine Larbalestier, author of Magic or Madness
sarazarr -- Sarah Zarr, author of the forthcoming Stories of a Girl
hornbookfeed -- Roger Sutton, inimitable editor of The Horn Book magazine
d_michiko_f -- Debbi Michiko Florence, writer and curator of a wonderful website with lots of author interviews, and
jbknowles -- Jo Knowles, YA novelist and organizer of the all-live-journal-finish-your-book-by-December project
cynthialord -- Cynthia Lord, author of Rules
cynthialeitich -- Cynthia Leitich Smith, author of Rain is Not My Indian Name and creator of a blog in which she interviews nearly everyone in children's and YA literature
So, as you can tell I am procrastinating writing DramaRama, which is my next book (not the next to come out, next to be written) and which is actually turning out pretty funny. It is about summer drama camp. But I am fiddling around reading all the above very entertaining journals, instead of actually writing it.

Something seems to have gone squidgy with elockhar, my real blog's LJ syndication. Sorry. Posts about an article by Jon Sciezscka, the Quill Awards, and the National Book Award nominations have failed to go through -- and possibly others as well.
I think it has to do with this one post that I tried to date for a week from now and then tried to cancel, but which got syndicated. Hopefully things will go back to normal soon; I'm thinking maybe by Oct 21, which is the date of the strangely dated post.
In the meantime, you can visit the blog itself here.

11:39 pm - Andrew Auseon and YAARC on the Friends List
|
andrewauseon, the syndicated blog of Andrew Auseon, author of Funny Little Monkey, is now on my Friends list. Hurrah!
Also yaarc, which is the syndication of a site for YALSA members and other YA literature folks, where people can exchange copies of Advance Reader Copies. It's fun to read, even if you never sign up for a single book, because you get a glimpse of what's coming out next season.
--E
P.S. My regular blog, as always is at http://www.theboyfriendlist.com/e_lockhart_blog/ and syndicated at elockhar -- as opposed to this LJ, which is e_lockhart and only functions to allow me to comment and organize a Friends list AND as opposed to a syndication that has mysteriously appeared for the main page of my website, which almost never changes, which is elockhart and completely not worth your while.
Sorry that's so confusing. elockhar is the one to bother with. That's what I'm saying.

8:01 pm - Yet More Additions to the Friends List
|
I've added three new people to the friends list in the past couple weeks:
1) lisayee, author of Millicent Min, Girl Genius
2)the YA literature blog "Avenging Sybil" -- which specifically addresses the representation of female sexuality in teen fiction ( avengingsybil)
3) connorgal, whose blog is focused on YA fiction, including lots on LGBT subjects and issues
And to repeat what's said already below, the LJ is just for purposes of the friends list, which is all teen fiction-related. Go to the yawriterblogs community to find even more blogs on similar topics.
My regular blog is at http://www.theboyfriendlist.com/e_lockhart_blog/ or check out the LJ syndication at elockhar
Cheers!
